I was amazed to discover this week that the oldest surviving member of the Swedish Royal Family comes from my home town of Swansea.
Princess Lillan is the Kings Aunt, she married Prince Bertil in 1976, they lived together discreetly (though everyone knew) for 30 years as she was a commoner. When the current King took the throne and himself married a commoner, his uncle went ahead and married the Swansea girl.
Nice to know there is a Swansea Jack at the Royal Palace, maybe I should send her a copy of Swansea City’s recent victory over Cardiff on DVD 😉
Todays Swedish Word of the Day is den kungliga familjen – the Royal Family
